President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution approving the State Program for Comprehensive Biotechnology Development in Turkmenistan for 2024–2028 and the Action Plan for its implementation during a recent online Cabinet meeting on Friday.
As reported by Turkmenistan's official media, Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, briefed the government on the preparations by the Center for Technologies of the Turkmenistan Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies, for the State Program for Comprehensive Biotechnology Development in Turkmenistan for 2024–2028.
The document aims to enhance the role of science in reforming sectors of the national economy, including accelerating the development of innovative technologies for producing environmentally friendly energy-saving products, aimed at import substitution and exports, based on biology and biotechnology. It also involves scientifically substantiating the formation of a powerful bio-industry in the country using biotechnology.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister's report, an International Forum "Science, Technology, and Innovative Technologies in the era of the Renaissance of a new epoch of a powerful state" will be held on June 12–13 with the participation of domestic and prominent foreign scientists.
The government meeting also discussed several national issues and made corresponding decisions.
