A few more thoughts on community

I have to say I was both surprised and energised by the reaction to my last blog, which seemed to indicate I'd tapped into a motherlode of dissatisfaction with the current status quo on this website. For too long, in my view, Xhamster has existed almost as a frontier town in the old wild west, its more forward-thinking inhabitants subject to persistent abuse and denigration from the bullies who think they rule our town. Well, I have news for them: it's a new century, and their dominance is as transient as a piece of tumbleweed rolling past the OK Corral.

All of us here are interested in viewing pornography in its various forms. A slightly smaller number are open to discussing the particular elements they find most fascinating, challenging, alluring. A much tinier percentage actually produces original content, most usually personal photographs or videos, but occasionally also blogs or short fiction. It is in their willingness to commit so wholeheartedly to the spirit of openness and transparency that such members are the lifeblood of Xhamster.

I will confess that at times I do catch the scent of cordite in my nostrils. There is indeed a battle on the horizon, but the lines have not yet been drawn nor the ranks decided. Perhaps I'm in the minority with my talk of respect and fairmindedness, but I think it's far more likely that I speak for a majority of Xhamster members who have long felt disconnected from higher ideals when between these electronic walls.

The crucible is this: honest discussion and depiction of mankind's most primal urge is only possible within a truly liberalized forum, but - let's be honest - much pornography falls well short of that liberal touchstone; it is up to us to square this particular circle, to elevate ourselves above the base heart of much of the material we are discussing. We call them 'adult movies', so let's be adult in engaging with this genre and our own interest in watching it.

Can't help but concur with every sentiment eloquently expressed in this blog.

Some battlelines are already being drawn whether we know it or not. And some of the worst offenders are seemingly untouchable due to being "part of the furniture" around here. But the population of decent, genuine (and most vitally, vocal) users is growing - and that can only sound the death knell for the ingrates. The smarter among them know this.

This one of the more eloquent set of observations I have enjoyed on here or any adult related webpage. Very well said.

to sexy44g : I think she's a beaut, even at this later stage in her career. Her personality shines, and that is a major part of her attraction for me.

to rodent1 : Nina Hartley looks fantastic at 54. I hope to look as good as her when I am in my fifties. I will be in my fifties in five years time. There is always a double standard for everything in life.

to sexy44g : Whilst I obviously have my personal preferences, I consider all variations on the female form worthy of celebration. I am so pleased to hear your self-confidence is building, and I know what courage it took for you to volunteer to take part in my advent calendar.

Ironically, porn is one area where traditional Hollywood body fascism holds little sway. Look at the career of Nina Hartley, still busy at 54; can you imagine a mainstream actress appearing in a love scene at that age? (Of course, no one raised an eyebrow when 56 year-old Harrison Ford romanced 29 year-old Anne Heche in Six Days Seven Nights, but the rules don't apply to actors.)

Rodent 1, I thank you for having an open forum here regarding this website. I have been a member here since May 2013. I had stumbled on this webpage by accident while I was sick in bed on that miserable week in May when I was sick with a puffy face and chin. Since being here I have learned to appreciate my body more. I am trying to be less critical of myself; it is hard when all my life I have been told I am not this and that. You get my drift. The human body is art. Porn can be abused

to DanielPortenio : I am jealous about your meeting Borges, by the way. One of my best friends is an acclaimed British poet, and he would be jealous also.

to Leaflee : I only have the friends I want. Like you, Leslee. I turn down dozens each week, because they offer nothing in return.

I think I agree! Haha! My main bone of contention here is why is it necessary for people to validate themselves with 1000's of friends...when they just opened their accounts several days ago? Don't they realize we all know they are faking people out? Not sure if this parallels what you are driving at...but, I can small and tell fakes and pre teens a mile away any more!

to rodent1 : Some day maybe I find the words and I'll answer to this.
Poetry is deadly serious for some Porteños of my generation, you could meet Borges at any moment in the corridors of the Biblioteca.
One day it happened to me and only told him "Buen día, maestro".
That's the reason for me to write only computer programs and a few lines in xHamster. But I nearly don't dare to write in Spanish.

to DanielPortenio : That's a fun page, although she appears to have quit writing poetry (or, at least, posting it).

Amusing wordplay, an assertive rhythm,
Ideas splintered like light through a prism,
All leading to that great decision:
What word is best to rhyme with 'jism'?

There is in xH a lady from North Carolina who produced some poetry and three shocking videos:

What she writes with her fingers she sustains with her mouth...

to apt567 : My friend Allie (Hair_314) asked after my previous blog whether I was standing for office, then told me I had her and her partner Tom's votes. How kind.

Wouldn't be the first time I'd stood for political office, by the way.

very well put , if only all XH users (old and new) had the same attitude as you, evolution , whether it be in the real world or on a porn site cannot be stopped , otherwise we would all still be living in the stone age,Dinasoars are extinct , and it's time for the breed of dinasoars on this site to change their ways , or they will follow suit, there is no place in the real world or on this site for bullies , so they must change their ways or leave , and let the decent people who enhance this site a better place to be.
