Val (part 1, mostly fact too!)
It was Autumn 1969, some fifty 16 year olds were descending upon the small Kent village of Greenhithe, home of the famous Merchant Navy training ship 'Worcester'. It was moored about 250 yards offshore on the river Thames, and could only be boarded by means of a motorboat. The boat was manned and run by the Officer Cadets themselves and they were responsible for bringing the teaching, catering, cleaning staff etc.
Val was about 30, a peroxide blond, cut very short and with very long, sexy legs! She worked on Saturday and Sunday afternoons as a tea/evening meal lady, serving and cleaning the tables for 50 horny 16 year olds!
It was always the 'duty' cadets who ran the motorboat, and we all hoped to be on duty when that time arrived for her to be picked up from the jetty, which, with the tide going in and out, could sometimes be quite slippery, so it was courteous to offer a helping hand to anyone trying to alight, especially if it was a bit choppy and the boat was moving up and down, and with all due respect to Val, she knew exactly what she was doing on those weekend afternoons, by wearing the shortest and skimpiest skirts and dresses it was possible to squeeze into!
It was not uncommon for anyone wanting to go ashore, to share the motorboat with staff. So, as the Autumn turned to winter on that dark November evening, and myself and 2 mates, Spud (he was a Norfolk boy) and Mowgan ( it was Morgan actually, but his London accent made it sound like Mowgan), decided to go for a walk, and a drink in The Brown Bear (the landlord knew we were all u******e, but it was money, and out of the way, so it was hardly ever checked by the police). As we sat in the boat and the duty Cadets were about to cast off, there was a shout from above our heads of 'Wait, one more coming' and down the gangway came Val, her skirt so short that only the lack of direct light prevented us from seeing all her glory!
It took only a few minutes to travel ashore, but all of that time the three of us were magnetised to the point at which her skirt met her thighs, hoping to get just the merest of glimpses of her knickers! She sat, demurely, ignoring our obvious leering and just smiled, knowingly!!
All 3 of us clambered out of the motorboat as soon as we touched the jetty, in the hope that he would be one whose hand Val took to help her from the boat, then step across, between boat and jetty, allowing whoever had that honour, to glimpse her knickers, as yet unseen!!
The three of us had become firm friends in the 2 months we had been on the training ship and had all admitted that, to date, we were still virgins!
Anyway, I was lucky enough to be first in the queue to help Val from the boat, but, the single light on the jetty, was too high to see what I'd hoped to, and again we were disappointed. It was about 200 metres along the foreshore to the road, and Val lived on the council estate about half a mile further. We chatted with her along that 200 metres, saying very little of real interest, her asking what it was like to be on the ship and did we have girlfriends at home and did we mind having to share our bed compartments with 5 other boys etc. etc. So, to our delight as we came to the road, she asked us if we'd mind walking her to her house as it was dark, and that her hubby had to go to work almost as soon as she arrived home, as he was on night shift and she would be alone in bed all night!
We glanced at each other and nodded and said 'Yes' instantly to her request! It took about 15 minutes to walk to hers and she became more friendly and inquisitive about our girlfriends and if they write to us while we are away.
As we approached her door, she suddenly turned and smiled, then whispered, 'If you wait over there', pointing to a small copse close to the road, 'When my husband drives away in his car, you can come in and continue our chat, I have some vodka, so you would save a bit of money from going in The Brown Bear! My k**s will be asleep in bed and I could do with some company' she smiled!!
