- [Instructor] Hi, everyone, welcome. So in this video I'll walk you through the steps of installing Active Directory. So when I say installing Active Directory, what we really mean is to actually promote a server to a domain controller for a new forest. So before we do all that, let's just look at kind of the before and after. So this is a Windows 2025 Server. As you can see, it's a standard edition and it is the desktop experience version. Now, this one is not joined to any domain or anything, it's just a standalone server. And if you look at these items in your left pane, in the server manager, you'll see that only thing we have is the attributes of the local servers. All Servers, where you'll just see this server only. And then you also see File and Storage Services. So not much to see here. And then basically when we look at the Manage, we are just seeing that we have few options for adding roles and features or servers. From Tools also, we have the basic, all the server related…
