From the course: Windows Server 2022: Installation and Configuration

Suggested knowledge

- [Instructor] Before watching this course, there are just a few very basic things I'd like you to know. First of all, when it comes to the prerequisites, I have great news for you. There are no prerequisites for watching this course. It is designed to be an entry level course for anyone who is looking to learn the basics of Windows Server 2022. I will say that any kind of general knowledge of navigating Windows, not even Windows Server, but just Windows in general, sure could be helpful, but is not an absolute prerequisite. Now there is a little bit of a lab setup that I have here. In this lab setup, I am going to be creating two virtual servers and I will be doing this on a single machines, right? So I have a single computer here that is running Windows Server. I believe it's actually Windows Server 2016 or 2019 with Hyper V. And then in Hyper V, I'm going to create two virtual machines that are going to act as my virtual servers. I will show you a little bit about how you can actually do that if you want to follow along. And I just want you to know that one of those servers is going to have the full desktop experience. And the other one will have a very basic server core installation of Windows Server 2022. And this way you'll be able to see both interfaces that you may experience when it comes to Windows Server 2022. But I will emphasize that if you want to follow along, all you really need is a computer that has the ability to run some form of virtualization and has the minimum hardware requirements to support the two virtual servers. And even if you don't have that available, even just watching what I do should be good enough to get you through at least the first time through the course. And that is pretty much all you need to know in order to go ahead and get started.
