What is design thinking?

(soft, bright music) - Now that we have a basic understanding of what UX writing is, let's explore how UX writers use the design thinking process in their work. The design thinking process is a problem solving methodology used to solve complex problems and create innovative solutions. It is an iterative process, the purpose of which is to encourage multiple attempts at solving a problem and refining the solution. Although the design thinking process is non-linear, for simplicity in this course, we will review it step by step. Just keep in mind as we go through the steps that in practice, design thinking is intended to be non-linear. UX writers use the design thinking process to help define the problem, ideate solutions, and test and refine the final solution. In this next segment, we will explore each part of this process and see how UX writing fits within each step.
