(upbeat music) - There are two main approaches when it comes to designing a product, and as a UX writer, you will probably encounter both approaches throughout your career. I'm talking about the content first versus design first debate. In a content first approach, the content is prototyped before or simultaneously with the design. By contrast, the design first approach focuses on creating the design first, often using Lorem Ipsum text as a placeholder, and then the content is added afterward to fit within the design. One of the main benefits of a content first approach is that it allows for a more user-focused design. By creating the content first, designers and writers can better understand the needs and goals of the user and create a design that supports those needs.
