- [Instructor] There was a time back in the early 2000s when gray text on a dark gray background was regarded as just way cool. It may have been, but it was impossible to read, and when it came to being aware of accessibility, cool always won out. Thankfully, that has all changed. And Stark's Contrast Checker is designed to bring contrast issues up to the current WCAG standard. So what I have open here is the Explore California site. And if you take a look at it, and I'll just give you a quick scroll through it, you would assume there are no contrast issues because the text is all quite readable against all of the backgrounds, or the text is large enough to read. This would be a bad assumption, because that assumption is subjective. You are making the call based on what you see. Instead, let's run it through the Contrast Checker.
