- [Instructor] Points are perhaps the most frequently used gamification element. Why? Because they're versatile, informative, and understandable. The more points you earn, the better, except of course in golf, where the lower your par the better. When thinking about creating a gamified point system, it's important to remember that you can award points based on participation, completion or performance. The point system you choose, or combination of point systems, because you can use more than one, depends on your goals. Let's explore these three points systems. The first is to award points for participation. This method is the most basic use of a point system. For example, if you log onto the learning system or answer a question, you earn points.
