Demo of using AI to create a SWOT analysis
- So now we're using Mistral, which is from a French company. It's called Le Chat, or if you're French, the cat, Le Chat. So let's put our prompt in here. And this doesn't ask for any documents to be attached, but you do need at the end, the very end of the prompt here we've got a variable that we need to add our information into this variable. So curly brackets, "information". And what we're going to do here is we're going to give the information saying that, "Coca-Cola is launching a new range of fizzy milk products for the Japanese market", and we're going to ask it to come up with a SWOT analysis for that. So let's enter this. What I want to point out here is that there's a few things that I'm asking for here. This is my list of things that I want it to deliver in its response, but after it's delivered its response, I'm saying that, "Once you've delivered this, ask if I'd like to make any amends. And then once I'm happy with it, ask if I would like a web visualization." So it'll create an HTML document that's interactive of a SWOT analysis with the quadrants. And you click on it, it'll give you more information. So we'll see if it can do that for us successfully as well. So let's see what it's done here, right? So it's given us the strengths, the weaknesses. We're not, you can slow this down and have a look at these and see what you think in terms of quality, opportunities, and threats. Then it's going to say that further analysis of this, what's the impact of threats on strengths and weaknesses? So there we go. Regulatory challenges, competitor responses, et cetera. Strengths and weaknesses impacting opportunities. So what's the impact on opportunities of strengths and weaknesses? So it gives us information on that. Here's a written analysis based on the information that we've got from the SWOT analysis. So it's the kind of thing that you could put into a document, edit it until it's something that you like. This is quite useful, the assumptions made during the process. So it's assuming that Coca-Cola has the necessary regulatory approvals to launch dairy-based products in Japan. The Japanese market has a receptive consumer base for novel beverages. That's an assumption. So it carries on with the assumptions. And this can be useful to see if it's assuming something that's not right, it's assuming too much. That could be, that's a possibility. Is saying, "Here's some further research that might improve this analysis". And right saying, "Review the analysis, let me know if you'd like to make any amends". I'm going to imagine that this is okay. I would expect that you would look at it, read through it, and say, "Okay, change this, this, and this". But if you're happy with it, you'd say, "Please give me the web visualization." And it will now start creating some code for us. And once it's created this code, what we'll do is we will copy the code. You can see there it is. It's developing the code at the moment. We will copy this code into a text document. Then this text document we will save with ".html" at the end of it. So the file name .html, then we can open that up in a browser. So let's see what it does here. (static whirring) So I can see here it's not quite delivered what I was hoping for in terms of the popups. So I want to be able to click on each element and get a deeper explanation of each of the elements in the quadrants. So I'm going to give it an instruction here and say, "I would like further explanation of each list element when you click on it. Please write these explanations to help me understand each point better." And now it'll rewrite the code based on that. (static whirring) Chuckles "Oops, something's fishy". We're going to retry. So I'm just going to say here, "Please just give me the updated code". (static whirring) Great, so I'm glad that you saw the problem there because I want you to understand that when these things happen to you, it's not just you, it's not your fault. It's not just you, it happens to everyone. So that's technology for you. I'm going to copy this. I'm going to put this into a document. You can't see me doing this because it's on a different screen. I'm going to save that document and now I'm going to bring up, I saved that to my desktop. I've now brought up my desktop and I'm clicking on the file and dragging it. Here we go. I just dragged it in there and it loads up. So once you've saved that file, you've copied it, you've put it in a document, you've saved it with ".html" at the end, you can then just drag it into your browser. And here we can see that as we click on each of these elements, it gives us a different explanation. So financial resources for marketing and R&D, the company has substantial financial resources that can be allocated. Opportunities here, we'll go at the bottom on "expansion into adjacent markets". And then here's the further explanation in there in a popup. So it becomes a lovely sort of interactive webpage that you can use in presentations. So you can bring this up in a browser on screen in a boardroom. You can share the file with people. Tell them, "Just drag this file into your browser". And it lets them then interact with this SWOT analysis. So isn't that great? That it's not just given us a bunch of list items that you'd copy and paste into a Word document. It's giving us something that is visual and it's interactive and people can use to get a much better understanding of it. So I don't know if I'd want to have a fizzy milk drink, but there we go. This gives us a good idea if it might be something that could be worth Coca-Cola pursuing. And maybe next time I'm in Japan, I'll look out for something like this.
