Reorder fields in a visualization
After you create a visualization in Tableau, you can change the organization of your data by manipulating fields. In this movie, I will show you how to reorder and reorganize the fields within a visualization. My sample file is 02_05_Reorder and you can find it in the Chapter_02 folder of the Exercise Files collection. And no, you are not wrong. This is a blank visualization. I'm going to create it from the start and then show you how to change it. Let's say that I want to break down my sales by order type and then by sales region. So I will drag Order Type. To the column shelf, so I have Retail and Wholesale. Then on the rose shelf I'll drag Sales region so drag that to the row shelf and then I will drag Sales Count to the data area. My text table visualization now shows Order Type, Retail and Wholesale, and I will resize that column by dragging its edge broken down by sales region.
