Add a table calculation

Gathering your data into a Tableau Table lets you discover important insights. You can enhance your table by adding table calculations that summarize the data you already have available. These summaries provide an overview and help you make decisions about sales and operations. I'll demonstrate how to work with table calculations in this movie. My sample file is 04_04_Table calc, and you can find it in the Chapter_04 folder of the Exercise Files collection. I have a text table in this workbook with sales broken down by product category and then by order date. And for that I just have the years. If I want to display the difference between 2022 and 2023, I can add a table calculation. To do that, I'll go to the marks card and I have some of order total which is providing the values. So I'll click that pils down arrow and then almost all the way to the bottom I'll click Quick Table calculation. And here I can select from the different calculations.
