Using the Tape Measure tool for precise drawing in SketchUp

- [Instructor] The tape measure tool is a multifunctional tool that will allow you to measure, set guidelines, guide points, and resize models. To measure anything in your model, activate the tape measure tool by clicking on this icon here, or the keyboard shortcut letter T, for tape measure. You can measure things in a few different ways, you can hover over an edge and a yellow box appears, letting you know the size of that edge. Or the square footage of a face. To find the distance between two points, you can click and release on one point, and then hover over another point to find the distance. To let go of that selection, you can tap the Escape key. Oftentimes it's helpful to create a guideline. And in SketchUp there are guidelines and there are guide points. To create a guideline, using the tape measure tool, you can hover over an edge, click release, and then move your cursor, creating a guideline. Click release to set it.
