Creating 3D shapes from rectangles in SketchUp

- [Narrator] To transform a 2D shape into a 3D shape, we can use the push pull tool. That's going to be the keyboard shortcut letter P or this icon here. Hover your cursor over each face here of these shapes and you'll see that it highlights in a stippled way, a stippled pattern, and that indicates which face we are about to pull up. So I can click release on this end shape here, click release, and then move my cursor upwards. Click release to set it. Now as I hover over this shape, I can now double click and it will remember the previous distance. It's important to remember, like the other tools, that when we're push pulling these, we need to click release and then move your cursor upwards and not click drag. We can also push pull to a measured distance. Let's extrude this rectangle to 10 feet tall. So with this still selected, I can type in 10 feet, enter. And it will be 10 feet from my click point up.
