What should you know before watching this course

- [Instructor] So what do I need to know before I can tackle this course? Well the first thing and the main thing, is that it's a pro version only, so you'll need to get access somehow to the pro version of the software. The second thing is having a working understanding of SketchUp. So as we covered in the first series, looked at SketchUp and creation of the model from duty drawings then the ability to set those out with scenes and styles to create second cuts, etcetera. That's also an important part of this because there's a nice link between SketchUp and Layout which we'll look at in a bit. The other thing that's quite useful is understand how architectural drawings go together. Now you might be doin' this to learn a little bit about that so I'll try my best to explain the whole process and why you'd lay something out like you would. But that's all part of learning how to be an architect. Or if you're a practiced architect already, all that you'll need to know is how to get them into the right format. So we'll be covering all the basics of this course. We won't be going into massive amounts of detail. So a little bit of skill with graphics would be useful. A little bit of skill with SketchUp would also be useful. And just understanding so that the reasons why you'd want to lay something out like you do is also going to be useful, but not essential. Okay, feel free to come into this with no experience at all on architectural drawings and we'll try to get you to understand a little bit of the why's and wherefore's of laying out drawings they way in which we do. Also also, and most importantly, why layout is something you should never ignore when you've spend an awful lot of time creating models inside of SketchUp. Now we've got one more piece of housekeeping to cover and that's relating to the exercise files, if you have access to them. And then we can start learning how to use Layout.
