- [Instructor] Not all information is created equal. Some files are harmless if shared freely, while others, if exposed could lead to financial loss, legal trouble, or worse. SharePoint provides tools to help you classify and protect your content, but defining confidentiality levels is the first step. Start by understanding the types of information you're working with. SharePoint can contain anything from casual team notes to critical business data. To organize this, ask yourself, what's the cost if this information is exposed? Would it be inconvenient, embarrassing, or could it result in serious financial or reputational harm? Once you've answered that, you can classify your data into levels.
