Adding piers and pilasters

Now that we have columns and foundation walls, we can start inserting piers and pilasters. Piers and pilasters are actually columns, at least that's how I like to model them. I think it's the best way to add this type of element to a Revit model. So the objective of this video is to use an existing concrete column and modify it to become a pier. Let's open a model. Browse to chapter 3. structural 03-03. Click open. Under structural plans, let's go back down to top of footing. On the structure tab, let's go to column. For the properties, click the drop-down. Let's grab this 12 by 18. I want to make a new one anyway, so doesn't matter which size we grab. Click on Edit Type. Click on Duplicate. Call it two foot dash six inches by two foot dash six inches. Click OK. B will be two space 6. H will be 2 space 6. Click apply. Click OK. For the height, make sure it's going up to level 1. Let's click at grids. We'll cheat again. At grids.
