- Now, Rich, when I started with DaVinci Resolve years and years and years ago, it was, you know, a multi-hundred thousand dollar system, you needed bank loans to get started on it. - Yep These days people are running Resolve on laptops and systems of all sorts and often times those systems are underpowered or at the very least can't support full resolution high quality RAW files. - But fortunately we can get around that just like we can in an editorial application, we can create optimized media, or proxy files. - Yep, so let's go take a look at how that works. You know, Rich, so earlier we talked about using proxies inside of Premiere Pro and proxy workflow in Premiere Pro is great and there's not really the exact same workflow here inside of Resolve, but Resolve does have a powerful built in transcoding tool that lets you do what they call create optimized media.
