Scenario: Managing technical element issues
(soft upbeat music) - Here's the scenario. Given the eventual success of new manufacturing robotics in the United States, a company sought to expand their manufacturing capacity in Europe. They engaged the same robotics vendor who they worked with in the U.S., as the vendor said they support their products overseas, as well. Testing went well for the European rollout. All testing was performed in the U.S., as the vendor was located there, and the U.S.-based business resources were familiar with how the robotics solution worked. However, the European users had significant issues on the very first day. The date formats on the control panels were backwards, as the U.S. date format was used. The quality assurance manager did an audit after the first set of parts were produced using the robotics, and he reported that the reports did not adhere to the European safety standards.
