- Imagine this, lots of people make the journey from New York to Los Angeles every year, but not everyone makes the same trip. Some drive, some fly. You can even take a train, if you have the patience. Now, let's say you are put in charge of mapping this behavior and then deciding on the best way to get from point A to point B. Sounds simple, right? Of course you'd fly on a direct flight. But wait. The best route could mean the fastest, the shortest or the cheapest route or perhaps an optimal combination of all of the above. While that's clearly an analogy, you can see how the map of potential paths gets complex quickly. The answers to these questions can be found with a technology called process mining. My name is Ian Barkin. I've spent my career helping global companies understand, interpret and apply cutting-edge technologies, like process mining. This course is a primer for enterprises and individuals to understand the fundamentals of process mining. What it brings to the table and how you can best leverage it. Let's jump in.
