How to leverage a portfolio in interviews
- After you have all of your skills shown in your portfolio, you're ready to land your next role, but why aren't you getting called back after interviews? To be completely transparent, it's normal to be rejected a lot of the time. I've experienced plenty of rejection myself. It's part of the process. If you're not moving forward in interviews, it doesn't always mean that you aren't qualified. You might have the right skillset but you might just not be communicating it well enough to the hiring manager. This is why I'm going to help you connect the dots between your skills and projects to the duties and the job description. First, read the job description carefully and identify the skills and tools mentioned. Don't worry if you don't know everything in the job description. No candidate is perfect.
