Exceptions to the high-risk classification

- [Instructor] The AI Act dedicates 44 of its 113 articles to classifying and defining requirements for high-risk AI systems. Many tools and programs fall into this category, but I'd like you to be aware of a few key exceptions. Article 6, paragraph 3 of the act defines scenarios where a high-risk system's specific usage or intent reduces the overall risk of significant harm to individuals' health, safety, or fundamental rights to an appropriate level. First, your AI system is not high risk if the intent of the system is to perform a narrowly defined procedural task. At first glance, you may think your resume review tool may qualify as a high-risk workers management or employment tool, but if all it's doing is copying and pasting relevant information, you may be in the clear.
