How we manage neurodivergent employees
- Neurodiversity is what we see when there's a group of people in a room, be it virtual or in-person. Everyone thinks, learns and processes information differently. This makes the entire global population neurodiverse. Neurodivergence, on the other hand, relates to specific conditions including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and others. These neurotypes cause people to experience the world in unique ways, the majority of people. Social interaction and communication amongst neurodivergent people are also quite different to most of the population. Neurodiversity and neurodivergence are often conflated, so it's important to clarify the difference.
