Using Vanishing Point
- There's a really cool trick to integrate Photoshop and After Effects together called Vanishing Point. It allows you in Photoshop to draw perspective planes and then export a virtual environment into After Effects. The process will automatically cut up the photo into layers and reassemble it in 3D space. Now, this doesn't work for all images but when it does work, it's really cool. It allows you to do things like 3D pans or moves around an object, and it's quite effective for things like animatics or really in-depth shots. But as it is with most of these techniques, it's going to take a little bit of experimentation, which can be fun. Let's go ahead and try this technique out in depth but be sure to pay close attention to the example files so you can really unlock the power of Vanishing Point. Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to easily adapt it to your own photographs.
