Setting the ambient light
- Any 3D scene is going to benefit from lighting. They can add shadows, depth, and color to really bring things to life. Let's take a look at a couple of scenes we worked with earlier and enhance them by adding 3D lights. I'm going to start by opening up this lesson from the Chapter 10 folder. It's called Lighting. And if needed, click Okay to update it. This one has three different scenes in it and we're going to work with all three of these. To start, open up the soldiers in the field. Now, in this case, we need to add the ambient light. You could do this by choosing Layer, New, Light, and then set the type to Ambient. The ambient light is the base lighting level. Now, most of the time we're going to reduce the amount of light available with the ambient light. This is a lot like how a studio is typically darker and then you add lights to the scene to bring things out. Sure, there's going to be a base lighting level, but…
