Create a 10-minute reminder
- [Instructor] Power Automate is great at kicking off automatic processes when a specific event occurs, an email is received, a form is submitted, but it can also create on demand processes that can be made available as mobile apps, meaning that you can use them while on the go. How about a flow that sets up a 10 minute reminder on your mobile device? Say you're in the middle of something and you're not quite ready to move on, but you know if you don't get pinged, you'll get too involved and you'll miss something? Well, actually there are a lot of Power Automate templates specifically designed to work with mobile devices. If we click the button link in the template menu bar, look at all of these options that we have. Here's the one we want for now, send myself a reminder in 10 minutes. Now this flow is super, super streamlined. It's checking to make sure that we've got the necessary connections and, instead of continue, it just says, Create a Flow. We click that, it's done. The only thing that you really have any need to worry about at this point is if you want to change the interval of time, you can go back in and edit the flow. And in the delay card, you can change this to 10 minutes, you can change this to hours or months or weeks. You can make reminders for whenever you want, really. So this is a very handy little tool to have, but we'll just go ahead and save this for now and we'll check it out. So how do we trigger the flow for the reminder? Well, assuming that you installed the Power Automate app on your mobile device like I told you to, open it up. If not, this is a great time to install it. In the app, one of the options in the menu bar at the bottom is Buttons. Tap that, oh look, here's our flow. If you tap this, you will get a nice chiming reminder 10 minutes from now. It's that easy.
