Understanding screen reader considerations
- [Instructor] A screen reader is a form of assistive technology. It's a software application. While anyone can use a screen reader for any reason it's primarily to assist those who are blind or have vision impairments. A screen reader will convert text and other objects on the screen to audio or even braille. Because the user can't see to use the mouse, they will move around the screen automatically or jump around using the keyboard. The screen reader in order to know where to move things around on the page and what to read, needs order and organization, in order to give the user the proper and correct experience. This is where you come in. Here's some actionable steps you can take, to make sure your document is screen reader friendly. In a previous video I talked about all text. Here I have a logo in Word.
