OneLake architecture
- [Instructor] OneLake is meant to be the single container for all your data. Similar to how OneDrive is the location for all of your files and documents. OneLake is a data lake built on top of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Having all the data together allows for one security model and level of access for all the data. With OneLake, you don't need to move the data to use it. Creating an instance in Fabric will create a OneLake. There is only one of these per Fabric tenant, and you can only create one in any single Azure instance. Think of OneLake as a logical container where you house the data. Physically, the data can be stored somewhere else. For example, if your organization has general data protection regulation, commonly known as GDPR, requirements, that would specify that the data must reside in a given country.
