Customer satisfaction, employee productivity, and market share all saw an 18% increase. However, 52% were unable to scale AI due to a lack of skilled workers. In May 2024, another Microsoft-commissioned Forrester study explored how Microsoft Azure helped companies become AI-ready. More specifically, it measured the total economic impact of migrating to Microsoft Azure for AI-readiness. Forrester found that AI and machine learning deployment and operational costs on Azure were reduced by 70% and 15% respectively compared to on-premises infrastructure. They also found that most companies using Azure Cloud had an easier time scaling and more flexibility to innovate their AI and machine learning applications than with on-premises infrastructure. Finally, also in May 2024, Microsoft and LinkedIn published the Work Trend Index Annual Report, showing how AI is shaping the job market. Leaders are prioritizing candidates with AI skills. 66% of leaders wouldn't hire someone without AI skills. 71% would prefer hiring a less experienced candidate with AI skills over a more experienced candidate without them. Junior candidates gain an edge. 77% of leaders say AI will allow them to take on more responsibility. In addition, professionals are taking the initiative, learning AI skills on their own. 76% believe AI skills are essential to stay competitive. 69% think AI skills can accelerate promotions, and 79% think they can broaden job opportunities.
