Using crop overlays for additional control
- Now in the case of these images, I'm using the default original crop but there are some extra controls we can use here to help. First up, let's start with our first example. You'll notice that we are cropping using a locked aspect ratio that matches the original photo but I could change this aspect ratio depending upon what my goals are for output, for example, a five by seven print. Now you have the flexibility to slightly recompose things and depending where in the frame we work, this can affect what we're seeing. That looks pretty good. Let's go to this next image here. Here, I'm going to change to a one by one or square aspect ratio because my intended output is going to be social media and I can use these overlay guides to really help me position. For example, I want to use this strong line here and line it up with the rule of thirds just to help compose things. I'm going to adjust this crop a little bit later…
