From the course: Mapping for User Experience Projects

Mapping for user experience

- What's a UX map? It's a way of arranging data about your users, that helps you to tell a story about their struggles and successes, as they complete their tasks. Their feelings, their environment, their journey through the process of interacting with your product or service, as they try to live their lives and get their work done. I'm going to show you several different ways to display this data graphically. Each one will help you explore how your users think or behave. Or show you the relationships between your users, your company and the other parties involved in the process. Some of these maps are better for helping you learn new things. Others are better for sharing what you've learned. Some focus on where things happen. Some on, who's involved behind the scenes. And some on the whole ecosystem that user's tasks take place in. I'll help you identify the best map to use for your situation. And give you an overview of how to create each one. Maps are a great way of both finding out more about your users. And then sharing that knowledge with other people in your organization, so that you can create products that better meet those users' needs. I'm Chris Nodder and I've been helping teams use maps to guide their product development processes, for many years. Now I want to share some of those techniques with you, so that you can map out your user experience. And use this knowledge to guide you to creating better products.
