Ecosystem maps to show the environment
- These days, we seldom create products where one user works with one application on one computer. Instead, we're dealing with complex interactions with other people, applications, systems, services and organizations. That leaves plenty of room for error, if we make bad assumptions about or fail to identify one part of the broader environment, the ecosystem. Ecosystem maps show the relationship between all the people, products and services in a system. Seeing this big picture of all the actors and components in the system and how they interact, allows you to determine which interactions will be effective, when you make a change. When you add a new product or change the way an existing product works, the effects ripple out through the entire ecosystem.
