- [Lecturer] Distribution points can be used in both a centrally administrated site as well as a standalone site in configuration manager. I'm in the administration location, the lower left hand corner, and I'm going to click on distribution points. And by default, even in my standalone setup, you're going to see a distribution point. And that's because we need to have a location where we can push out software updates, software installations, and other changes. What I'm going to do is I'm going to right click on my distribution point and click properties. And inside the properties, there are some things that I recommend that you make changes to. For instance, you can see under the general tab, if this was a centrally administrated site, then you would want to possibly check the boxes for branch cache and some of these other options. And what they do for you is it goes ahead and caches the information for remote locations. If you have remote locations and say you have a server on that…
