Prerequisites for installation
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at some of the prerequisites for installation of Configuration Manager. We need to have a 64-bit operating system, and that's really not a problem nowadays. But at one point there were 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows being deployed, but now everything by default is going to be 64-bit. You can't use the server core version, you have to use the full desktop experience version instead. The recommendation is 96-gigabytes of RAM. However, I've run it with as little as 16-gigabytes of RAM. It just doesn't run very fast with that amount of RAM. And you need to have at least one terabyte of space free for being able to download all the different configuration files, updates, and other resource files needed to run Configuration Manager. And you'll need to use Multicore processors. Of course, all current processors are multicore, so that should not be a problem.
