Installing CentOS on a virtual machine
but you don't have a physical machine or a Cloud server you can set up CentOS on, you can install CentOS in a virtual machine instead. Virtual machines are great because they provide a safe, contained little space for an operating system to run. That guest operating system and your host operating system are kept separate, and having it affect your real computer. In this video, I'll show you how to install CentOS using VirtualBox. VirtualBox is available from VirtualBox.org for free. This installer's for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. I've already downloaded and installed VirtualBox on my system. Take a moment to download and install the software on your system as well. Here in VirtualBox, in the VirtualBox manager window, up in the top left I'll create a new virtual machine here on my computer. I'll give my virtual machine a name.
