Use the power of compositions wisely
Compositions help manage complexity and solve complications. To unpack that somewhat alliterative statement, I'll skip ahead to an example that relies on multiple compositions. Believe it or not, you will know exactly how to create what you see by the end of the course. Looking at the timeline and project that were used to create what you just saw, you'll notice something right away. The timeline is made-up of multiple compositions as you can see from their colorful filmstrip icons and you can see more of those same icons up here in the project panel. So even though I just see a few keyframes for opacity, those are the transitions between shots, and a time remap which is allowing this shot to go from high speed to normal speed right there with an ease between them. There's clearly a lot more going on here. To see that I can double click on one of the layers, say this first one, and there are three more layers in that composition with their own keyframes.
