There may be times when the After Effects user interface looks very unfamiliar or isn't behaving the way you expect, and it could be the result of the workspace being changed. So in this case, I have closed most of the panels. Actually, what I did was choose a workspace called Minimal and then rearrange it a little bit. And I could continue customizing it if I wanted to. Right now, it's working the same, but the timeline is just scrunched way down at the bottom and the viewer is giant. If I were to add, let's say, the project panel shows up in its usual place, but I could, if I wanted to, grab the tab and you'll see shaded areas where I could drop it. So I could move it over on this side instead. Or if I really wanted to mess with things, I could even put it below. probably don't want to do that and If I change my mind about doing any of that, I can also just click on these hashes and say close panel You are free to play with this.
