Pre-compose to solve timing and workflow blockers

There's one main solution to most workflow problems in After Effects. It's known as pre-composing, and here's how it works. In this lesson, I'll show you a couple of need-to-know preparations to make the next shot work smoothly, and we'll look at, more generally, how to handle these kind of issues. So, for the wave, I'm going to want to mask it and have it wash right over the word here. And I'll create the mask with the Rotobrush tool. Rotobrush lives right up here along the other tools. We haven't used it yet. It's this one.
