We've seen how a layer is an object in space and an item in a stack, as well as a sequence of frames and a duration in time. Now, let's use a simple logo animation to learn more about layers. I have three source layers here. I'll shift select all three of them, drag down to the new composition icon to create a new composition with them. There's a stack of layers. In the middle is what appears to be a logo. I'll bring it up to the top and you can see it there. there. If I solo it you can see that it has transparency. I can even put it over a checkerboard right there. So the solo switch that's allowing me to do that also lets me see the bottom layer that's otherwise hidden. I'll label my layers. Pressing return I'll call this one logo, the next one down in the stack LA, and the third one will be called water.
