Create motion graphics with vector shape layers
let's add graphics starting only with a simple shape layer. In this lesson I will show you two of the main gotchas we all run into all the time with shapes and how to easily get around them. The shape tools are found up here and then there's the pen tool to draw them freehand. And if you're thinking wait a minute I thought those were mask shapes, you're right. The same tools work for both. Notice this fill, stroke, pixel, etc. information shown up here. If I select a layer such as the moon, those go away. And that's your visual cue, if you start drawing, that you don't see a shape because you've just drawn a mask for that moon. So I'll just deselect by clicking elsewhere and select the ellipse and hold down Shift to Constrain and just draw this over the moon, like so. It's an ugly red. That is the default. I'll just change that to white. So now I'll set an opacity keyframe because I'd like this to fade in. Let's go back a little bit here and set that to zero. That's great, and then…
