- [Instructor] The applications menu provides easy access to the 13 categories of Kali security testing tools. When we click the Kali symbol at the far left of the top bar, we get a search field and a menu of applications. Included in this, are the groups of Kali tools. The menu also has a favorites, which it populates when we use the system. Let's concentrate on the Kali menu items. When we move to and click the first entry, Information Gathering, a listing appears to the right, which contains the most popular tools, some listed individually and some in sub-folders. We can expand a sub-menu, such as Networks & Port Scanners, and this will drop down to the tools in that sub-menu, and here we have massscan and nmap. Similarly, we can click on SMB Analysis, and we get the three key tools for testing SMB services, enum4inux, mbtscan and smbmap.
