- [Instructor] If you assess that you have a better chance of avoiding serious injury by fastening your seatbelt, but never fasten your seatbelt, then the assessment would do little good. The same applies if we assess AI risk that can cause serious negative impacts, but never apply risk treatment. So let's focus on what AI risk treatment means. Clause 8.3 is AI risk treatment. Recall the responses to risk, including a modification that aims to mitigate or reduce the threats impact through controls. These are now operationalized when the results of the treatment options are ineffective in accomplishing the objectives they should be updated. An example of an organization identifying, implementing its own controls could be our bank lending AI organization doing a modification response of not allowing the AI system to enforce a loan decision when it flags an application as fraudulent.
