Context of organization: Clause 4.1
- [Presenter] The use or production of AI systems will rarely be in isolation, even if an organization produces its own AI systems and uses them internally. Let's see how this is so. External and internal issues addressed under Clause 4.1 include legal requirements that could prohibit the use of AI in a particular context, whether it is solely used internally. The organization's concern about the effects of climate change are also part of the internal and external concerns or issues that an organization may have. AI is resource intensive. Cultural norms could also be part of the picture of external and internal issues. These could include tradition, ethics, policies, competitive landscapes, contractual obligations, incentives or consequences, associated with AI's intended purpose and use.
