Having a large network of devices and applications, IoT systems are designed to collect sensitive data about their environment, and often times, data related to people. To help IoT systems ensure privacy, cryptographic techniques can be used. That enables sensitive data to be stored, processed, and shared without having the information content accessible by outside parties. Another consideration is during the design process of the IoT devices or systems. This simply means the need to have a plan to ensure that the IoT device itself has the required privacy layers.
