Troubleshooting control plane connectivity

Troubleshooting control plane connectivity

- [Instructor] In this lesson, we're going to talk about troubleshooting control plane connectivity to the edge devices. Now before we get started, we must ask ourselves, were we ever able to successfully establish control connections to vBond, vManage, and vSmarts, or is this a new site? So let's take the perspective of this is a new site and we're trying to bring online a system. So we're going to look at it from the perspective of doing zero-touch provisioning. So the first steps that we have to do when we're troubleshooting zero-touch provisioning is did we receive an IP address from DHCP? And if the answer is yes, then we can move on. The next question is, can we ping the gateway? If we could ping the gateway, what about pinging something that lives outside of the network? Assuming we're using cloud-hosted controllers, we have to make it out onto the internet. So if you could ping by numerical fashion, 8.8.8.8 or OpenDNS at 208.67.222.222, those IP addresses are almost always…
