- [Instructor] In this lesson, we're going to talk about service chaining through a policy. Now with service chaining, we can reroute data through services such as firewalls, load balancers, or intrusion prevention systems, or intrusion detection systems before they reach the final destination. Now, service chains operate by enabling and advertising services on the edge devices next to those services in the VPN feature template. The next component is going to involve the configuration of a policy that will change the next hop of the route to the service landing point that's defined at the edge service advertisement. Now, whether or not you want to use a topology or data policy depends on your context. So if you want to do it just purely based off of the destination of the prefixes, you could just basically do this off of the topology.
