- [Instructor] In this lesson, we're going to talk about route policy. Now, route policy is a component of the local policy. It allows for the filtering of routes or the manipulation of routes or the route attributes. Now with that being said, when we're talking about routing policy, it's important to notate where we're going to attach that route policy at. So if we're going to talk about redistribution of protocols in OMP, then we will attach the route policy within the OMP feature template if we're doing things at a global level. So that means VPNs 1 through 511, basically anything that is not VPN 0 or VPN 512, because those are not advertised in OMP. Now, if we're also talking about doing things on a more explicit basis on a VPN by VPN level, which is what I prefer to do when I'm talking about dynamic routing protocols, that route policy would then be attached within the VPN feature template for that.
