Application aware routing (AAR), part 1

- [Instructor] In this lesson we're going to talk about application aware routing or AAR. Now AAR is one of my most favorite policies because we're going to be able to take the advantage of application pinning and put a service level agreement to it or SLA towards that. So, we can therefore ensure that a specific application is able to take a path that meets the needs or requirements of that application. Now, AAR is going to work on top of bi-directional forwarding detection or BFD. So BFD is going to operate on all SD-WAN tunnels for every transport. As a matter of fact, it's invoked automatically when we build up that tunnel. It was one of those first things we talked about in lesson one. After we build up the IPSec tunnels, we start to build these BFD sessions. When I was checking to see if a tunnel was established, what do we look at? BFD sessions.
