How can I create a staccato or popping animation in After Effects?

- Now, normally we use key frames to smoothly transition from point A to point B. But if we remove the transition, the object can effectively transport from here to there with no in-between. To do this, we need to use a hold key frame. It's a special type. And what it does is creates a jump from one point to the other. This can be used to create dramatic or popping type animations that really work in certain situations. Sometimes when you animate, you want to see changes but you want those changes to pop or be dramatic. In this case, we have a staccato type effect where the objects are scaling and moving, but you don't see the transitions. Rather, it just simply pops from one place to another. Well, this is done because you've changed the type of key frame. Let's open up the animate comp here, and you'll see that there's normal key frames in place.
