- A secret that most designers know are blending modes. They're really quite magical because they let you mix the contents of one layer with another. And it's way more effective than using opacity. Let's try a few different blend modes to get a cool effect. I'll open up 5.7 Blend Start. I'll make a little more room here in the timeline. I like this, but what I want to do is make a few tweaks. You'll see the footage is at the bottom. So let's press command D to duplicate and then move it up a little. Now, we can delete away the things we don't need. And we're going to process this clip. The Lumetri effect makes it really easy to make a perfect black and white. So I'll go to Color Correction, Lumetri, and press E to see the effect.
